Backstory
I’ve been coding since I was 12 and got my hands on my first computer.
What I Do
I like building tools to help people get their stuff done easier and faster than they could before!
I’ve spent most of my career in the Actuarial space, building tools, wrangling data, and automating things. Lately I’ve been doing all my development in AWS, building Data Lakes and marvelling at how fast and easy everything comes together.
Most of my time has been spent in .Net though these days I’m in Python a lot.
Pet Projects
A lot of my time goes into home automation projects, reading, tinkering, and building.
I have a fairly robust home automation platform at home which is where I spend most of my time tinkering and experimenting. If there’s something I want to try to play around with chances are I’m about to break my setup!
Trivia
I still hold a pained fondness for APL because where else will you get syntax like this: m ← +/3+⍳4.
VR is nice, I wish AR was further along. Beat Saber makes me nostalgic for hours in college playing DDR.
I read books faster than anyone can write them and I wish I had a backlog.
